More Connection, More Voice: Opening the Dialogue Between Artists and Clients

ree

For years, one question has been echoing in my mind: how can we create more openness, more connection, and more flow between voice-over artists… and between those voices and the clients they serve?

Voice is, after all, the art of weaving invisible bonds. So why not extend this same art to our professional relationships? Here are a few gentle yet dynamic ideas to reimagine how we connect.

1. Bringing the Phone Back to Life: the Warmth of Voice Without a Microphone

In a world saturated with emails and text messages, picking up the phone almost feels like a poetic act. And yet, how simple, how human it is to connect this way!

  • Schedule a regular short voice check-in (5 to 10 minutes) with a loyal client.

  • Reconnect with past contacts through a smile they can hear, instead of a stiff written line.

  • Remember: our voice — even outside the studio — is our very first tool for building trust.

2. Living Loops: WhatsApp, Newsletters, and Mini-Surveys

Networks don’t have to mean impersonal campaigns; they can also become circles of proximity.

  • Create dynamic WhatsApp lists: share a demo, a project update, or a playful sound bite.

  • Send gentle, personalized newsletters, where you tell your story with authenticity.

  • Offer quick express polls by email: “Which tone do you prefer for this project?” or “Which audio format inspires you the most?”.

3. The Magic of In-Person: Meeting in the Studio

What if, instead of staying each behind our isolated microphones, we dared to meet again in person?

  • Organize joint sessions when living in the same city.

  • Imagine small creative voice workshops, where spontaneity feeds collective inspiration.

  • Join voice-over events to meet face-to-face those we usually only see through an avatar.

What If We Dared to Go Even Further?

  • Launch a collaborative podcast among voice-over artists.

  • Offer clients private audio capsules — like vocal postcards, intimate and surprising.

  • Start creative challenges within our community: “30 seconds to tell your morning like a movie trailer!”.

Because in the end, our craft is not just about lending our voices. It is about embodying presence — even when everything seems digital!!
